We are currently working on several interesting and challenging projects, include Conservation Management Plans, Impact Assessments, Archival Recordings, Conservation and Repair Works, and Local Council Heritage Training courses.
Current projects include:
- The Proposed Dunoon Dam Cultural Heritage Assessment. As part of Rous Water’s Future Supply Strategy, the area of the proposed Dunoon Dam has been indenitfed as a possible option for future use. Rous Water, as part of a number of feasability studies, has commissioned Ainsworth Heritage to investigate the area of the proposed Dam for both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Heritage and to assess any potential dam’;s impact upon this heritage.

- Evans Head Memorial Aerodrome Machine Gun Pit Archival Recording and Repair works. The World War II machine gun pit at Evans Head Memorial Aerodrome on the NSW Far North Coast is a rare type of light anti-aircraft pit. Ainsworth Heritage is preparing detailed measured drawings of the machine gun pit before its heavily damaged and corroded lid is removed for conservation treatment and storage in an interpretative display.
- Tweed Shire Community Based Heritage Study – Ainsworth Heritage is currently working with Tweed Shire Council to update and complete the Shire’s Community Based Heritage Study. Ainsworth Heritage, in addition to completing the study in detail, has also provided advice on a heritage media campaign, as well as compiling heritage guides for use by Tweed Council staff and for owners of heritage in the Shire.
- Casino Urban Release and Salty Lagoon Aboriginal Heritage Studies – These two projects in the Richmond Valley Council Area are focused on investigating Aboriginal Heritage and assessing potential impact upon it. The two projects involve detailed community consultation, heritage mapping, field research and reporting, each aiming to avoid or mitigate any potential impacts upon Aboriginal Heritage.
